Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals in a fast-paced retail and healthcare setting. You will maintain food quality, assist with daily setup and ensure safe handling and presentation throughout the service line.

You will perform prep work, stock items, serve customers, and support a clean, compliant operation while following recipes and safety protocols. English proficiency and FoodSafe certification are required.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.
• Previous food service experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring food quality and presentation.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays between stations following safety standards.
• Store food properly with wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for daily purchase.
• Perform general cleaning and waste disposal.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Relay customer concerns to the supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
• Provide cashiering and line serving in retail areas.
