As a dedicated member of the Nutrition Food Service (NFS) team, you could make a significant impact by providing nutritious, healthy, high-quality meal service to patients, residents, staff, visitors, and the community. This position is located at Claresholm Center for Mental Health. You will be accountable for performing various tasks to ensure a quality patient, resident, and customer experience. Under the general supervision of a Food Services Supervisor, you will use your customer service, teamwork, and organizational skills to independently:

1. Prepare, handle, portion, and package food and beverages.
2. Assemble trays in the kitchen and/or serve meals in a dining room setting.
3. Provide patient meal delivery and pickup.
4. Order and put away unit supplies.
5. Safely operate and clean industrial food service equipment.
6. Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards in accordance with AHS policies and guidelines.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Additional details:

• Location: Claresholm, southern Alberta, approximately 91 km from Lethbridge and 125 km from Calgary.
• Classification: Food Service I
• Union: AUPE GSS
• FTE: 0.63
• Hours: 7.75 per shift, days/evenings/weekends, with a rotation schedule.
• Salary: $18.36 to $20.02 per hour.
• Start date: 01-JUN-2025.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 46 lbs and pushing/pulling meal carts up to 250 lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand for the duration of shifts.

Additional Requirements:

• Basic computer skills.
• Attendance at new employee orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of customer service and food service experience.
• Experience in hospital or long-term care settings.
• Experience with inventory management, commercial food service equipment, Food Safe Certification, and WHMIS training.
