Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Calgary is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals in a healthcare setting. You will follow recipes, maintain food temperatures and portions, and help with daily setup.

You will assist customers, operate a cash register, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are met. The role requires English communication, FoodSafe Level 1, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables as part of prep work.
• Carry pans and trays to and from stations while following safety standards.
• Store food properly with wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for daily purchase and service customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance across all areas.
• Provide service in retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
