Job summary

Aramark is hiring a First Cook for Hydro-Québec, East James Bay. The role offers 70 hours per week, with time‑and‑a‑half for hours over 55 and a starting hourly wage of $27.98. Benefits include meals, accommodations, private room lodging, and insurance options.

The successful candidate will be a culinary professional with DEP preferred or equivalent experience, MAPAQ certification, and 3–4 years in food service, ready to lead kitchen operations in a remote camp setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Prepare the daily menu.
• Manage kitchen operations, including staff, inventory, and ordering as required.
• Be able to respond effectively to operational needs.
• Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, colleagues, and others.
• Ensure the quality of food services and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.

ARAMARK is Hiring a First Cook for Hydro-Québec, East James Bay

Aramark offers 15days on / 13 days off work rotation schedule.

Transportation is provided by airplane from the Bagotville and Rouyn-Noranda airports.

Position:First Cook

Hourly Wage: $27.98

The wage will increase according to the applicable collective agreement upon completion of the 300-hour probationary period.

The work schedule consists of 70 hours per week. All hours worked beyond 55 hours per week are paid at time and a half.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Prepare the daily menu.
• Manage kitchen operations, including staff, inventory, and ordering as required.
• Be able to respond effectively to operational needs.
• Set up workstations with all required ingredients and equipment. Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, cutting, and peeling food items.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain a positive attitude toward guests, customers, clients, colleagues, and others.
• Ensure the quality of food services and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.

Qualifications

• Culinary diploma (DEP) preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in food service or the restaurant industry.
• Strong culinary skills and experience are an asset.
• Previous experience in a remote camp environment is an asset.
• MAPAQ certification.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation programs.
• Follow all established safety regulations and procedures.
