Job summary

Walmart Canada is hiring a Team Leader for Food & Consumables. You will assist in department leadership, respond to problems, and develop associates through teaching and training while ensuring a high level of customer service and task completion.

You will plan department activities, coordinate tasks with the Food & Consumables Coach and Store Management, oversee merchandising, scheduling, safety, and communications to keep the store running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Age – 16 or older.

Responsibilities

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Assists in providing direction and the co-ordination of task completion as per communicated priorities from the Food & Consumables Coach and the Store Management Team. Delegate, assist and follow-up on completion of daily Customer Availability process tasks.
• Assesses the overall presentation of Food & Consumables Departments and appearance, noting deficiencies for corrective action and executing merchandising display changes where required.
• Ensure strong communication with associates, leads the daily Team Huddle at the start of each shift, and provide the team with updates, set goals, and track productivity.
• Review completed schedules with People Lead.
• Assign Associates to support coverage and availability tasks in all areas of the store.
• Tours assigned areas with the Coach and team associates to validate and identify training opportunities. Develops associates through teaching and training and provides feedback as needed.
• Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Complete GTA/Workday tasks and supports Management
• Partner with Coach/People Lead to facilitate performance management and growth conversations for Associates. Supports recruiting and hiring new associates.
