Responsibilities

  • Oversee the condition, availability, and performance of all trucks and trailers.
  • Schedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Coordinate emergency breakdown support and towing services.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance contractors and service vendors.
  • Monitor fuel truck service schedules and fleet utilization.
  • Ensure all vehicles meet regulatory, safety, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records including service logs, inspections, and registrations.
  • Plan and assign daily delivery routes to maximize efficiency and service levels.
  • Coordinate dispatch schedules for deliveries and pickups based on production and customer demand.
  • Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery performance.
  • Adjust routes in real time to address delays, traffic, or operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse, production, and customer service teams.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support drivers to meet operational requirements.
  • Conduct driver training on safety, compliance, and company procedures.
  • Monitor driver performance, attendance, and productivity.
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and driving regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations including accidents, delays, and violations.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures without exception.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections.
  • Maintain driver logs, ELD compliance, and inspection documentation.
  • Investigate accidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Promote and reinforce a strong, proactive safety culture.
  • Immediately report and investigate incidents.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods.
  • Resolve delivery issues, damages, and customer concerns.
  • Coordinate special deliveries, urgent shipments, and returns.
  • Maintain high service levels through clear communication with customers and internal teams.
  • Monitor and manage transportation costs including fuel, maintenance, and overtime.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on fleet performance and KPIs.
  • Track and analyze key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support audits and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain supplies for drivers (safety supplies, truck fluids, etc.).
  • Participate in Lean initiatives and standardization efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.

The Fleet Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the company’s transportation fleet. This role oversees fleet maintenance, dispatch operations, driver performance, and regulatory compliance while ensuring on-time delivery and high customer service standards. The position plays a critical role in optimizing logistics performance, controlling costs, and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Fleet Management & Maintenance

  • Oversee the condition, availability, and performance of all trucks and trailers
  • Schedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
