Job summary

The Town of Whitby is hiring an Equipment Wash Attendant to support Operational Services by washing municipal vehicles, cleaning fleets, and applying rust inhibitors. The successful candidate will operate various tools, handle heavy lifting, and work in a safety-conscious environment.

You will report to the Manager, Fleet Services and ensure vehicles are clean and ready for maintenance, while maintaining the wash bay and assisting with transfers to repair facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation diploma is required.
• DZ Driver's License is required and in good standing; Safe Driver Program criteria.
• Ability to operate various tools and equipment and handle heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Wash equipment in preparation for vehicle servicing.
• Clean waste collection vehicles on a scheduled basis for maintenance.
• Wash other Operational Services vehicles to prevent premature wear.
• Apply rust inhibitors to vulnerable components after washing.
• Daily cleaning of the wash bay.
• Assist with transferring vehicles to external repair facilities or transfer stations.
• Perform other duties as required.
