Job summary

The Town of Whitby is seeking a Part-Time Attendant I - Maintenance to support routine cleaning of facilities, set up spaces for bookings, and assist rental groups. You will ensure safe, welcoming spaces for patrons and events in Whitby.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities, you’ll deliver exceptional customer service, help keep exterior areas clean and safe, and assist in training part-time staff. Flexible hybrid schedule with days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
• At least 12 months of related experience in recreation facilities.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification in good standing.
• Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills with public and program participants.
• Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Valid Class G driver's license in good standing.
• Police vulnerable sector check (VSC) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine facility cleaning in all public washrooms, changerooms and common areas.
• Set up and/or take down and clean-up of spaces according to booking schedules and rentals.
• Provide customer service and respond to public and rental organization needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior facility areas (garbage, snow removal, salting).
• Respond to public and staff inquiries; provide assistance as needed.
• Mitigate risks and ensure user and staff safety within the facility.
• Provide direction, training and advice to part-time staff; assist in other duties as required.
