Town of Whitby is hiring an Attendant II (Maintenance Helper) to support our Facilities team. You will perform routine facility cleaning in public washrooms, changerooms, and common areas, and ensure facilities are safe and user friendly for patrons.

You will also maintain exterior areas, assist with ice resurfacing and pool readings under supervision, respond to inquiries, set up spaces per bookings, and help with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically able to lift, push and pull heavy objects.
  • Police record check required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine facility cleaning in public washrooms, changerooms and common areas; ensure facilities are safe and user-friendly for patrons.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of exterior areas including garbage receptacles, snow removal and salting.
  • Assist with ice resurfacing and/or pool readings under direction of Full Time Facility Attendant.
  • Respond to public and staff inquiries and provide assistance as required.
  • Set up and/or tear down facility spaces according to booking schedules.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.
