Job summary

Bison Transport is seeking a Fleet Dispatcher to manage day-to-day activity of the driver fleet, ensuring timely dispatch, routing plans and effective communication. You will monitor operations, handle satellite messages, and document issues for action and records.

Job description

As the Fleet Dispatcher, you are expected to execute the day to day activity of your assigned driver fleet. This includes monitoring of the fleet, accurately distributing, receiving and updating information. You would be responsible for identifying and participating in the resolution of issues relating to day to day activity of the driver. You must be well organized, an excellent communicator and have a keen sense of timeliness in carrying out daily activities.

Specific Responsibilities include:

• Dispatch: Transmitting and receiving of all information relevant to the driver/cartage company performing his/her duties within the Company and customer requirements, and providing drivers with plans and routing as required.
• Satellite and Telephone Management: Handling of all driver related satellite messages or calls within assigned and overflow queues.
• Reporting: This involves the recognition, communication and documentation of situations that should be reviewed by other parties, for information, action and record keeping purposes.
• Problem Resolution: Working on behalf of both the Driver and the Company to immediately resolve any day-to-day issues that may arise.

This position is subject to a 2x2x3 Continental Shift, hours of work are 06:00 to 18:00.
