Job summary

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Design Services Manager to lead the East Canada Fire & Life Safety Design team, preferably based in Ottawa or near an East Canada office. You will manage 5–10 designers and engineers, drive technical excellence, and oversee design delivery for commercial, institutional, industrial, and mission-critical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 8+ years of experience in fire protection design, engineering, consulting, or related technical services.
• 3+ years of experience leading teams, projects, or technical design groups.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM coordination practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical professionals and build high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5-10 fire protection designers, BIM specialists, drafters, and engineers.
• Provide technical oversight for design and coordination of fire protection systems.
• Manage project workloads, staffing, schedules, and resource utilization.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and pursue opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with codes and standards; oversee QA/QC of design deliverables.
