Westinghouse Electric Company in Canada is seeking a Principal Fire Protection Specialist to lead high‑level fire protection engineering for lifecycle safety in complex facilities. You will apply advanced fire science, performance-based design, and code interpretation while mentoring a team of engineers and specialists.

You will report to the Director, Fire Protection and be located in Kitchener, Ontario. The role is hybrid, requiring onsite presence two days per week at the Kitchener office.

Formación

• Minimum 10+ years of related professional experience, incl. 5+ years in fire protection engineering/consulting.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering OR a college diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or Building Design Technology.
• Licensed by PEO, OAA, or equivalent regulatory body.
• Advanced expertise in performance-based design, fire protection analysis, computational modeling, life safety systems, and code interpretation.

Responsabilidades

• Lead performance-based fire protection design analyses, including fire modeling and code compliance.
• Develop comprehensive fire protection system designs, passive and active systems, and construction documentation.
• Provide senior review of shop drawings, inspections, and testing for life safety systems.
• Conduct fire hazard and code compliance assessments for existing facilities.
• Mentor and coach fire protection team members and support training and emergency response.
