Job summary

Troy Life & Fire Safety Ltd. in Timmins, ON is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Technician to service and maintain life safety systems. The role involves inspections, repairs, and ensuring customer satisfaction with high standards of reliability.

Applicants should have electronics training (2 years preferred) or equivalent experience and CFAA certification, with a valid driver's license. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of community college in electronics is desirable or equivalent training/experience.
• CFAA Certification is required or preferred.
• Experience with fire alarm, extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections is a plus.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect and repair fire alarm, extinguisher and emergency lighting systems.
• Ensure system reliability and high client satisfaction.
• Perform verifications on fire alarm systems and complete work orders.
• Be on-call for emergency service calls and liaise between customer and Troy.
• Adhere to applicable ULC/CSA and Canadian electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• The fire alarm service representative will be required to assist with duties of maintenance, inspections and repairs on fire alarm, fire extinguisher, emergency lighting systems and other life safety systems as required
• The successful candidate will ensure that the highest standard of system reliability and client satisfaction are met
• Perform verifications on fire alarm systems
• Complete work orders and report in a timely fashion
• On-call for emergency service calls/work
• Act as liaison between customer & Troy
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Two years of community college in electronics is desired, or equivalent training or work experience will be an asset
• Previous training/experience in fire alarm systems (2+ years)
• CFAA Certification required
• Experience in performing fire alarm, extinguisher, and emergency lighting inspections.
• Troubleshooting and service experience an asset
• Proficient in the use of computers
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
• Exceptional customer service skills and organizational skills
• Understand and practice applicable ULC, CSA and Canadian
• Electrical codes and standards which apply to their area
