Job Description
Purpose of your role

As a Financial Crimes Investigator, you will identify and monitor activities such as fraud, money laundering, and terrorist financing. You will support investigations and report findings to relevant authorities, playing a critical role in protecting OFX and its customers while ensuring regulatory compliance.

What you do
  • Review alerts generated by OFX monitoring systems and operational teams.
  • Support the optimization of detection systems through rule reviews, trend analysis, and profiling.
  • Monitor and communicate metrics related to volume and quality.
  • Analyze customer activity against profiles.
  • Engage with external partners to understand financial crime trends.
  • Conduct investigations and report to authorities.
  • Maintain thorough records of investigations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve processes.
  • Update and train staff on procedures.
  • Maintain high service standards for internal and external clients.
Qualifications
What you bring
  • At least 2 years’ experience in financial crimes monitoring and investigations, preferably in finance.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. risk, anti-fraud, and AML frameworks.
  • Understanding of red flags, criminal typologies, and trends.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage resources effectively.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
  • Self-initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
  • Experience working with operational teams and frontline staff.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.

The salary range is $70,000 - $75,000 CAD, with potential bonuses and benefits. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, with 1-2 days in North American offices (San Francisco, Toronto, Edmonton).
