Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced bioanalytical chemist to join a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of drug discovery scientists. The successful candidate will perform LCMS method development and routine bioanalytical assays to support in vitro ADME screening and in vivo PK/TK studies.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and optimize LC-MS bioassays for the quantification of a range of small molecule compounds in biological matrices.
  • Perform routine analysis of samples deriving from AMDE or PK experiments in buffer and tissue.
  • Apply strong analytical/problem solving skills to troubleshoot LC-MS methods.
  • Operate general laboratory equipment and instrumentation systems and utilize automated data collection and processing programs.
  • Perform calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of LCMS instruments.
  • Coordinate repairs and service appointment with instrument vendors.
  • Document experiment details, calculations, results and observations.
  • Communicate assay needs, timelines, progress updates and bioanalytical assay deliverables to project team members.
  • Collaborate with team members from multiple functional areas to support project development.
  • Participate in the preparation, review, and revision of laboratory standard operating procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties, as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years experience or master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in LC-MS bioanalytical method development and validation for quantifying small molecules in biological fluids and tissues using various techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in various biological sample preparation techniques such as PP, LLE, and SPE.
  • NMR experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting skills on LC separation techniques (i.e. RP, NP, HILIC) with multiple detectors including UV-visible, PDA, DAD and mass spectrometers.
  • Proficiency with various data acquisition and processing programs.
  • Proven ability to work independently and to collaborate cross-functionally to accomplish goals in a timely manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and computer skills.
