Our client is seeking a Controller for a dental laboratory based in Oshawa.

The Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting and month-end close processes for a growing business.

Key responsibilities include cash flow analysis and reporting to highlight key metrics as the company scales.

This role will serve as the main point of contact for the private equity firm that acquired the company, which aims to expand across Canada.

The company maintains a very flat corporate environment, focusing on developing scalable systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage month-end closes
2. Conduct cash forecasting and modeling
3. Ensure accuracy and consistency of all accounting transactions
4. Implement and suggest accounting controls and policies
5. Document GL flows, movements, and treatments; keep documentation updated
6. Oversee daily financial accounting and controllership duties
7. Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
8. Perform exchange and year-end reconciliations
9. Manage inventory counts, reporting, and adjustments with management
10. Handle HST and WSIB reporting, and timely period-end closings
11. Prepare for external audits
12. Report sales by customer and category to management
13. Control operational functions affecting accounting processes
14. Participate in budgeting, streamline accounting functions, and coordinate audits
15. Provide information to external auditors for annual audits
16. Contribute as a member of the management team
