Our partnered client, a forward-thinking organization in the construction industry, is currently looking to add a Controller to their team. We seek an experienced finance professional to oversee accounting, financial planning, and office administration. This role is vital in driving financial health, optimizing operations, and supporting sustainable growth. If you're a strategy and forecasting expert, you'll work closely with the business owner and a Staff Accountant.

The ideal candidate is a CPA (or working towards it) with a solid background in full-cycle accounting, financial management, job costing, and business operations. They thrive in entrepreneurial settings and can navigate complex financial structures while providing strategic insights to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance
• Collaborate on project pricing strategies to minimize financial risk
• Develop and implement financial strategies for growth and profitability
• Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
• Manage intercompany accounting across multiple entities
• Handle foreign exchange transactions and international financial matters
• Advise ownership on financial strategy and business planning
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, reporting standards, and ethical practices
• Lead office administration for smooth operations
• Manage payroll and employee compensation structures
• Communicate financial insights to leadership for informed decision-making
• Support from a Staff Accountant reporting directly to this role

• CPA designation or candidate

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop
• Experience in construction accounting, job costing, and project finance
• Ability to create financial models and perform operational analyses
• Highly organized with problem-solving skills and proactive approach
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
