Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Financial Analyst, Operations, to join our Winnipeg team. The role focuses on accurate data processing, ERP management, and timely financial reporting across districts.

You will support cost allocations, variance analysis, and month-end activities while ensuring controls and compliance. The ideal candidate has an accounting-focused business degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration with a focus on accounting is required.
  • Knowledge of Viewpoint and OnBase is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Import journal entries and Chart of Accounts.
  • Create and maintain project and customer data within ERP.
  • Data input and posting of Accounts Receivable invoices.
  • Accounts Payable invoice processing as required.
  • Assist with project cost allocations and variance analysis.
  • Support district teams with routine financial inquiries, reporting requests, and data validation.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, reconciliations, and analysis spreadsheets.
  • Support month-end closing processes.
  • Assist with audit, tax, and internal control support by gathering documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, process efficiency, and consistency across operational finance activities.
  • Maintain organized filing and records management for construction contracts.
