Job summary

Bird Construction in Winnipeg is seeking a Corporate Accounting Analyst to apply cash receipts to accounts receivable, prepare general ledger reconciliations, and support accounting controls.

You will work with internal stakeholders to ensure timely processing, collaborate to resolve discrepancies, and contribute to workflow improvements while upholding accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business/Accounting.
  • Experience processing cash receipts to AR across multiple entities (asset).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a large volume of work and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Process and apply cash receipts to customer accounts accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations and working papers for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Prepare routine journal entries, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and controls.
  • Support system compliance and testing activities including documentation and issue follow-up.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting Services, the Corporate Accounting Analyst will be primarily responsible for application of cash receipt to accounts receivable, as well as preparation of general ledger account reconciliations under different timelines. They will also ensure information is processed accurately and in a timely manner. This position will also help with the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Process and apply cash receipts to customer accounts accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring the integrity of accounts receivable records.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial processes.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and working papers for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
  • Prepare routine journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
  • Support system compliance and testing activities, including documentation, validation, and issue follow-up as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting or a combination of equivalent skills and experience.
  • Experience processing cash receipts application amongst multiple entities, considered an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
