Job summary

Bird Construction in Winnipeg, MB seeks a Scheduler/Planner to plan, schedule, forecast and manage schedule risk for fast-paced project delivery. This role focuses on baseline schedules, progress updates, and cross-disciplinary coordination within a Canadian EPC/construction environment.

You will analyze schedule data, support client presentations, and develop WBS while monitoring subcontractor performance and driving productivity benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, construction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years’ experience in project controls, scheduling, or construction planning.
  • P.Eng and PMP an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain baseline project schedules.
  • Update schedules regularly based on field progress and project inputs.
  • Perform critical path analysis and identify scheduling risks.
  • Analyze schedule data and provide insights to the project team.
  • Coordinate schedule inputs across all project disciplines.
  • Identify schedule variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support Project Managers in presenting schedules to clients.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Monitor subcontractor schedule performance.
  • Lead planning and scheduling review meetings.
  • Prepare project reports and progress updates.
  • Track productivity and support development of productivity benchmarks.
  • Support pursuit and execution strategies related to project schedules.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support project and operational requirements.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Scheduler/Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, and managing schedule risk to support project execution within a fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environment, where effective planning and scheduling are critical to maintaining timelines and ensuring successful project delivery.

This role is based out of Winnipeg, MB.

What You Will Be Working On

What We Are Looking For
  • Degree in engineering, construction, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years’ experience in project controls, scheduling, or construction planning.
  • P. Eng and PMP an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel
  • Experience with earned value, critical path, and schedule risk analysis
  • Understanding of EPC or construction project environments
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
