Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Support the preparation and consolidation of quarterly forecasts and the annual budget process.
• Assist with quarterly consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and analytical reports.
• Support regional and corporate consolidation, including cash flow analysis.
• Liaise with operational finance teams to gather financial data and interpret submissions.
• Assist in the preparation of materials for senior management reviews and internal reporting.
• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Help ensure accuracy and consistency across internal financial reports and schedules.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and assist with documentation updates.
• Support process improvement initiatives and documentation of finance procedures.
• Prepare ad hoc analytical materials and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in system testing and upgrades as a business user; assist with enhancements.
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Financial Analyst supports the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Financial Reporting functions within the Corporate Finance team. The role is responsible for assisting with the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial information, including month-end reporting, forecasting, and budgeting activities. The Financial Analyst works collaboratively with senior finance team members and operational finance partners to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent financial data, while developing a strong understanding of corporate finance processes and reporting requirements.

Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field required;
• CPA designation or CFA designation preferred;
• 3-5 years of related work experience in financial reporting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), audit or related role;
• Mining experience is an asset, but is not required;
• Advanced user of Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, graphs, v-lookups, links between spreadsheets);
• Strong Analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to collaborate cross functionally;
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Well-organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn; and
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and planning cycles.

• Annual total compensation of CAD$90,000 to CAD$130,000 (including annual bonus eligibility).

• Corporate head office, located in Toronto, Ontario with occasional travel (Timmins and abroad); and
• Occasional attention to work issues in the evening or on the weekend.
