Job summary

Discovery Silver is seeking a Mine Surveyor for on-site duties at Hoyle, Ontario. The role involves providing line and gradient surveys for development crews, producing as-built surveys, and ensuring accuracy with checks against standards.

You will maintain survey records and issue prints per company guidelines. The ideal candidate holds a Mining Engineering Diploma or equivalent, has a valid G driver's license, and at least 1 year of mine operation experience.

Qualifications

• A Technician or Technologist Diploma in Mining Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Valid G driver's license.
• Minimum 1 year of mine operation and engineering experience.
• Leadership experience would be an asset, but not required.
• Be technically competent with U/G narrow vein and longhole mining.
• Strong communication and people skills.
• Team player.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide line and gradient to waste development and gradient to ore development crews in a timely manner.
• Provide as-built and cavity surveys to the planning department and operations in a timely manner.
• Complete markups of longhole stopes, cable bolt drilling and utility holes; ensure surveys meet standards with checks for accuracy.
• Assist Survey Coordinator to survey, calculate and check month end production figures as required.
• Maintain survey records up to date, including long sections, in AutoCAD and Vulcan formats.
• Issue survey prints to relevant parties per Discovery's standards.
• Maintain original signed prints by drafting surveyed as-built.

The Position

Mine Surveying

• Complete assigned surveys efficiently as a crew.
• Complete assigned surveys accurately according to the company's standards in a timely manner.

Record Keeping

• Assist Survey Coordaintor to survey, calculate and check month end production figures as required.
• Maintain survey records up to date, including long sections, in all formats including AutoCAD and Vulcan.
• Issue survey prints to all relevant parties according to the Discovery's standards.
• Maintain original (signed off) prints by manually drafting surveyed as-built.
