Job summary

Discovery Kidd is seeking a Project Field Coordinator to support capital project execution and oversee project construction and contract procedures compliance at its Canadian operations.

The role requires an engineering qualification and 10+ years of related industry experience, with strong skills in MS Office and excellent communication. Competitive CAD$91,000–CAD$114,000 salary plus benefits and pension, on-site in Canada.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma; practical experience considered.
• Minimum 10 years relevant industry experience, preferably milling operations or large-scale construction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-construction coordination meetings between contractors and site operations, field construction activities as owners representative, including equipment inspections, permitting, contractor management, and other associated contract documents.
• Coordinates all activity related to multi discipline construction and commissioning by contract personnel on designated projects, including COGNIBOX management system training requirements.
• Apply and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects and Mines and Mining Plants.
• Provide construction coordination and supervisory services, in consultation with the Project Manager, to ensure projects meet HSEC and site policy requirements.
• Perform field inspections at required project sites and document findings in order to monitor construction quality and compliance and have a project history.
• Report deficiencies and complete incident investigations.
• Provide Project Engineers with support with project planning and development of scopes of work.
• Produce Cost Tracking reports for invoice approvals.
• Provide assistance with drawing and constructability reviews, cost estimates, schedules, equipment evaluation, manpower assessment, and other engineering design and construction support functions.
• Provide assistance with contract administration functions.

The Position
