Job summary

Isidore Landscapes Inc. is seeking a Financial Administrator to oversee finance and administration, lead a small team, and ensure accurate reporting in alignment with Canadian standards.

The role requires QuickBooks Desktop and Excel proficiency, payroll processing, budgeting, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a construction-focused landscape company.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in accounting.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a construction related company.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel are necessary, ADP desirable.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Leadership, management, and organizational skills to supervise a team of 3.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills to interact with coworkers, clients, suppliers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the finance and admin department, and develop systems for efficient operation.
  • Lead the finance department; be responsible for supervision, training, and evaluation of assistant staff.
  • Process and submit weekly employee payroll with adjustments and documentation for vacation pay, reimbursements, personal deductions, benefits contributions, wage adjustments, etc.
  • Maintain employee’s benefit packages.
  • Manage cash flow effectively, prioritize payments appropriately, and review expenses.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable including consistent follow ups and management of overdue accounts.
  • Supervise reconciliation of bank and credit card statements.
  • Ensure bookkeeping records are accurate and up to date, without obsolete information.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Provide financial statements meeting Canadian accounting standards, reports, and analysis including detailed quarterly financial statements for company finances as well as monthly financial progress per project.
  • Provide quarterly reports on overhead expenditures and overhead recovery per project.
  • Oversee and confirm that bills are correct, paid and charges billed accordingly.
  • Develop cash flow projections and budgeting.
  • Prepare and file tax remittances and other government information submissions returns.
  • Manage capital asset values and depreciation, shareholder disbursements and dividends, loans, mortgages, and interest, and other accounting related information.

Financial Administrator

We are in search of experienced Financial Administrator, who will be responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative aspects of the company's operation. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting practices, financial planning, record keeping and financial reporting. Must be able to work in a team environment and is familiar with QuickBooks Desktop (necessary) and ADP (desirable). Will report to the General Manager.
