Responsibilities

• Monthly accounting close processes
• Prepare journal entries including accruals and fixed asset depreciation
• Prepare analytical analyses as required
• Monthly account reconciliations, including balance analysis and ensuring accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
• Record inter‑company transactions, ensuring all accounts are balanced
• Prepare monthly reporting package(s)
• Assist in maintaining adequate internal controls
• Assist external and internal auditors during year‑end and interim financial audits/reviews
• Perform ad‑hoc reporting to support operations
• Assist other team members with corporate projects/assignments
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules
• Collaborate with various teams within the organization, including management
• Utilize problem‑solving, analytical and organizational skills to understand the business and accounting processes
• Assist with improvement initiatives for data collection and reporting automation
• Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Accounting and/or Finance, Canadian Professional Accountant designation preferred
• Minimum 3 years related experience in manufacturing industry and/or cost accounting background preferred
• Excellent skills in MS Office Suite with advanced or expert level skillset in Excel
• Experience with Oracle; Hyperion systems desirable
• Self‑starter who can work independently and is flexible with initiative
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and analytical skills; results driven, accountable and able to meet tight deadlines
• Pro‑active spirit, good communication skills, team oriented and collaborative working style
• Exposure to IFRS reporting beneficial
