Job summary

InterPro Pipe and Steel Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to oversee installation, repair, and upkeep of mechanical systems, leading the maintenance team for optimal efficiency and safety.

The role involves planning preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and coordinating with the Mechanical Manager, Rolling and Finishing to minimize downtime and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical field or accredited apprenticeship/Journeyman.
• 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role and 2-5 years’ supervisory or lead experience in a union environment.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, pressure vessels, motorized drive systems.
• Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely isolate and secure equipment.
• Proficient in blueprint reading, P&ID and troubleshooting of mechanical operations of equipment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and personnel scheduling.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Must be available and flexible to be on call and work weekends when required.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs.

Job Description And Responsibilities

The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees the installation, repair, and upkeep of mechanical systems and leads the maintenance team to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. This role involves planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and optimizing machinery performance to minimize downtime.

This position reports to the Mechanical Manager, Rolling and Finishing.

• Provide training, guidance, and performance management for maintenance team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the mechanical field, or a completed accredited apprenticeship/ Journeyman; 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role and 2-5 years’ supervisory or lead experience in a union environment


• Or an acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered


• Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, pressure vessels, motorized drive systems


• Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures as to safely isolate and secure equipment during maintenance or repair


• Proficient in blueprint reading, P&ID and troubleshooting of mechanical operations of equipment.


• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and personnel scheduling


• Strong leadership and communication skills


• Must be available and flexible to be on call and work weekends when required
