It is important to us that the people we invite onto our team are a good fit both technically and culturally, and that the feeling is mutual. The process we use to assess fit may be different than what you’ve experienced with other companies, and we have designed it that way for a reason. If you have applied and are being considered for a position with us, this brief video will help you understand what to expect as you move through the Dexter/DexKo Selection Process.

At Dexter, we manufacture and distribute axles, accessories, and towing components primarily serving the commercial trailer, RV, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. We’re building products and systems that are rooted in a culture of safety, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Provide timely financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support manufacturing, staffing, sourcing, pricing, and investment decisions; provide timely and accurate response to requests for accounting information.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team supporting general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and related financial processes.
  • Review key account reconciliations, journal entries, financial analyses, and other work prepared by the accounting team to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Oversee or coordinate GST/HST compliance and applicable provincial sales taxes. Coordinate with Corporate Tax and external advisors in support of Canadian corporate income-tax compliance.
  • Monitor changes in Canadian tax and regulatory requirements affecting the business and work with Corporate Finance, Tax, Human Resources, and outside advisors to implement required changes.
  • Provide financial oversight of Canadian customs and import activities and coordinate with Supply Chain, Corporate Tax/Trade Compliance, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure accurate and timely accounting for imported goods.
  • Provide clear explanations of significant financial variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Translate operational performance into financial results and clearly communicate key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure financial results are accurate, complete, and reported in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Analyze actual results compared with budget, forecast, prior year, and operational expectations; identify trends; recommend and drive actions.

  • Ensure compliance with inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate annual physical inventories, cycle-counting programs, and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to improve inventory accuracy, reduce working capital, and address unfavorable inventory trends.
