The School of Communication administrative team provides comprehensive academic and operational support to faculty, students, and leadership. The Finance & Administrative Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the School’s academic and research operations. The position manages day‑to‑day financial administration, oversees operating and research budgets, and provides guidance to faculty on grant requirements, spending restrictions, and hiring processes. The role contributes to strategic planning, implements administrative procedures, and supports academic services such as teaching assistant hiring and event coordination. Working closely with CMNS leadership and partners across FCAT, Research Services, Research Accounting, and Financial Services, the Coordinator ensures compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial and administrative activities. Upcoming priorities include process improvements, system updates, and supporting new academic initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented and proactive administrator with strong financial acumen and a collaborative approach to problem‑solving. They excel at interpreting financial information, managing multiple funding streams, and supporting faculty through complex grant and budget processes. Full Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, Arts, or related discipline and two years of related experience in financial administration, post-secondary academic program administration and coordination, and event management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
