Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), part of the Glencore Group, invites driven finance students to join as a finance/co-op intern in the Elk Valley of British Columbia. Start date January 2027, with 8 or 12 months duration.

You will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analytics within a mining operation. Responsibilities include assisting with month-end close, preparing reports for Head Office, and supporting accounts payable and finance teams while learning specialized

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license without restrictions.
• Motivated self-starter with ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
• Solid financial skills; support for Financial Accounting or Accounts Payable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Dynamics AX is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Prepare reports for operational sites and Head Office.
• Assist with standardization and streamlining of systems to analyze and report financial data.
• Prepare financial transactions in line with corporate policies.
• Assist with timely month-end close reporting.
• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial, audit and tax reporting.
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas to improve business.
