Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), part of the Glencore Group, invites applications for a co-op role in mining/mineral resource engineering. You will gain hands-on experience in mine planning, safety programs, and collaboration with engineering and operations teams.

The position emphasizes outdoor work in the Elk Valley of British Columbia, with mentorship from seasoned specialists and opportunities to develop technical skills for future professional roles.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to manage several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations for the development of daily, weekly and monthly mine operations plans.
• Work in wide ranges of mine planning and design, including pit and dump design, autonomous fleets, production scheduling and optimization.
• Contribute to drilling, blasting and surveying activities and provide technical services to mine production and other mine site departments.
• Monitor and perform analyses of operating areas, with geotechnical evaluations of mine plans and procedures.
• Assist with development, tracking, and reporting of compliance of mine permits.
• Perform economic evaluations, productivity analyses, and assist with capital expenditure documentation.
• Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Mining/Mineral Resource Engineering
