Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR), part of the Glencore Group, invites applications for a co-op HR role in the Elk Valley, BC. Start date January 2027, duration 8 or 12 months, ideal for undergraduates pursuing HR-focused business degrees.

You will support recruitment for hourly mine operations, assist with pre-employment requirements, and help HR projects while gaining hands-on experience in a mining environment. EVR emphasizes safety, diversity and professional development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Able to manage priorities and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Experience with HR software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Support recruitment of hourly positions for the mine operations and maintenance teams.
• Sort and categorize applications, conduct pre-screens and schedule interviews.
• Assist with pre-employment requirements including reference checks and drug testing.
• Assist with career fairs and HR research/report writing.
• Contribute to onboarding process and onboarding support.
