Job summary

Western Tractor Company Inc. seeks a Service Technician to keep machinery in top condition and support on-site field service for local farms. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of Deere equipment in a well-equipped shop with strong team support.

The role requires a Journeyperson certificate in HET or AET and at least 4 years of agriculture equipment repair experience, with emphasis on diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, plus diagnostic tools and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Education: Journeyperson Certificate – Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or Agricultural Equipment Technician (AET).
• Experience: 4+ years in agriculture equipment repair or related field; John Deere equipment experience is an asset.
• Technical skills: diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, computer-based diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Keep the wheels turning by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of equipment using cutting-edge tools.
• Provide field service excellence by traveling to local farms for on-site service.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime during crucial farming seasons.
• Utilize John Deere computer programs to access manuals, run diagnostics, and install upgrades.
• Collaborate with a dynamic team to solve complex technical problems and share knowledge.
• Participate in company-sponsored training to expand expertise and stay current in the field.
