Job summary

Western Tractor Company Inc. is seeking a Service Technician to keep agricultural and turf equipment in top condition. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain machines at customer sites and in shop settings, using John Deere programs for diagnostics and updates.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Certificate in HET or AET is required.
  • Experience in agriculture equipment repair is preferred.
  • Proficiency with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of equipment.
  • Travel to local farms for on-site service and support.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
  • Use John Deere software to access manuals, run diagnostics, and implement upgrades.
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians to solve complex issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Education: Journeyperson Certificate –Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or AgriculturalEquipment Technician (AET).

Experience:4+years in agriculture equipment repair or a relatedfield. Previous John Deere agricultural equipment andproduct experience is anasset.

TechnicalSkills: Proficiency indiesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems,and computer-based diagnostic tools.

People-Focused:Teamplayer with a friendly, professional attitude and focus oncustomer service.

SoftSkills:Attention to Detail, strong timemanagement, ability to work independently, andadaptability.

PhysicalCapability:Ability to lift, carry, push,and pull up to 50 lbs with long periods of standing andwalking.

Valid Driver'sLicense:You'll need this for travel toservice calls.
