Job summary

Metso Corporation is seeking a Field Service Automation Technician to join the Beneficiation Canada team. You will install, commission, start up, optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain Metso's advanced analyzer and automation systems at client sites across Canada, with significant travel.

You will report to the Manager, Field Service - Beneficiation Canada. The role allows flexible work arrangements and requires willingness to relocate if abroad.

Qualifications

• Diploma/certification or equivalent experience in Automation/Instrumentation or related discipline.
• Minimum five years in industrial automation, instrumentation, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong troubleshooting of electrical systems, instrumentation, networks, software, and automation tech.
• Ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering docs.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, start-up, optimize, troubleshoot, and maintain Metso analyzer systems (PSI, OSA/Courier).
• Support sampling, preparation, vacuum, instrumentation, and control systems lifecycle.
• Travel to customer sites for planned maintenance, upgrades, and emergency troubleshooting.
• Perform root-cause investigations and resolve equipment/process issues.
• Assist integration with PLC, DCS, Networking, and industrial communications.
• Deliver training and technical support to improve equipment utilization.
• Complete service documentation and installed-base updates using Metso platforms.
• Identify opportunities for spare parts, upgrades, and digital solutions.
