Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Canada in Calgary, AB is seeking a Quality Control Technician for Aggregates. You will collect samples, perform sieve and moisture tests, and ensure product quality across pits and production belts.

This role requires travel across Southern Alberta, a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team while maintaining accurate records and calibration.

Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to follow structured field and lab procedures.
Comfortable performing physically demanding work and working independently or in a team.
Experience operating drones or holding a drone license is an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

Collect aggregate samples from pits, quarries, stockpiles, autosamplers, and production belts following standardized procedures.
Travel regularly throughout Southern Alberta to visit various aggregate pits and support sampling. A pool vehicle is available for business travel.
Perform routine sampling and testing of materials to ensure product quality and compliance (sieve analysis, gradation checks, moisture content tests).
Support troubleshooting by identifying quality issues and contributing to corrective actions.
Collaborate with production and quality teams while maintaining records, calibration, and safe work areas.
