Job summary

Heidelberg Materials Canada in Calgary, AB is seeking a Quality Control Technician for Aggregates. You will collect samples, perform sieve and moisture tests, and ensure product quality across pits and production belts.

This role requires travel across Southern Alberta, a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team while maintaining accurate records and calibration.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to follow structured field and lab procedures.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work and working independently or in a team.
  • Experience operating drones or holding a drone license is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Collect aggregate samples from pits, quarries, stockpiles, autosamplers, and production belts following standardized procedures.
  • Travel regularly throughout Southern Alberta to visit various aggregate pits and support sampling. A pool vehicle is available for business travel.
  • Perform routine sampling and testing of materials to ensure product quality and compliance (sieve analysis, gradation checks, moisture content tests).
  • Support troubleshooting by identifying quality issues and contributing to corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams while maintaining records, calibration, and safe work areas.
