Job summary

A Canadian engineering firm in Calgary seeks a Construction Materials Technician to conduct quality control and assurance testing for infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering technology, be comfortable with fieldwork, and possess strong communication skills. This role offers exposure to various projects and the chance to develop skills under senior mentorship.

Qualifications

• Completion of a related post-secondary program in Engineering Technology is preferred.
• Experience in the field of construction materials testing is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required.
• Ability to lift 50lbs and complete fieldwork in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction inspection and quality control/assurance testing for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct field compaction testing of soils.
• Conduct laboratory testing of field materials.
• Effectively communicate results and findings to clients and project engineers.
