Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Sparwood, BC is seeking energetic Field Labourers to support our industrial services team on a variety of field projects.

You will assist with setup, operation, cleaning, and basic site tasks, working with experienced crews and adhering to safety protocols. Rotation options include 21-on/7-off or 14-on/7-off, with day and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract.
• Reliable personal vehicle to travel to job sites.
• Flexibility for day/night rotations and on-call work.
• Experience in mining/oil & gas or industrial services.
• Swamping experience (Combo Vac or Hydrovac) is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe setup, operation, and control of industrial units and pumps.
• Rig equipment, position for tasks, and support site demobilization.
• Perform hands-on field labor: cleaning, packing, debris removal.
• Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, inspected, and stored safely.
• Follow all GFL safety protocols and site guidelines.
• Perform additional duties to support operations.

Position Summary

Our GFL Industrial Services team is seeking energetic and dependable Field Labourers to join our team in Sparwood, BC. In this role, you will work alongside a crew of experienced professionals providing key operational and field support across various industrial projects.

We are looking for versatile, safety-oriented team players who embrace physical challenges, take pride in their work, and bring a positive attitude to the job site every day.

Schedule: Rotation options available for out-of-town candidates (21-on/7-off or 14-on/7-off; day and night shifts).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Operators with the safe set-up, operation, and control of specialized industrial units, pumps, and hoses.
• Rig equipment in and out, spot equipment for safe positioning, and assist with job-site setups and demobilization.
• Perform hands-on field labor, including truck cleaning, equipment packing, debris removal, and confined space cleaning operations.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and safely stowed away after use.
• Adhere strictly to GFL safety protocols, procedures, and site guidelines at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operations.

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean/acceptable driver’s abstract.
• Reliable personal vehicle to travel to job sites.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts (day/night) and respond to after-hours call-outs as required.
• Experience in mining, oil and gas, or industrial services.
• Previous swamping experience (e.g., Combo Vac or Hydrovac operations).
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy physical labor, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in noisy or confined spaces.
