Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Administer medications (IM, SC and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings.
  2. Support/monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting.
  3. Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation.
  4. Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups.
  5. Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
  6. Provide reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
  7. Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information.
  8. Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other duties as assigned.
  9. Participate regularly in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
  10. Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
  11. Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product-specific programs.
  12. Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
  13. Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions.
  14. Follow all Health and Safety standards as per the provincial Health and Safety Act.
  15. Complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes.
  16. Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies, and company policies and procedures.
  17. Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar.
  18. May be required to be on standby/on call to meet service needs.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  1. Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
  2. Experience with IV therapy is an asset.
  3. Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field.
  4. Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificate.
  5. Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting.
  6. ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are considered assets.
  7. Knowledge of cell phone for appointments/assignments and fax machines.
  8. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills dealing with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
  9. Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision as part of a team.
  10. Able to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  1. Cell phone for making and confirming appointments/assignments.
  2. Flexibility to provide services for pre-scheduled and last-minute patient requests.
  3. Effective organizational skills; attention to detail.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Able to work independently and in a team setting.
  7. Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
