Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Administer medications (IM, SC, and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings.
  2. Support and monitor the administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting.
  3. Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments and document all activities according to program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation.
  4. Provide patient education based on program protocols, either individually or in groups.
  5. Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
  6. Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and Clinics Key Performance Indicators.
  7. Coordinate daily with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for appointments, treatments, and communication.
  8. Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other assigned tasks.
  9. Participate regularly in team web-based meetings and training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
  10. Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
  11. Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product-specific programs.
  12. Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
  13. Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  14. Adhere to all Health and Safety standards as per provincial regulations.
  15. Complete ongoing and annual education training within specified timeframes.
  16. Maintain adherence to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies, and company policies.
  17. Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar.
  18. Be available on standby/on call as needed to meet service requirements.

Experience and Educational Requirements

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
  2. Experience with IV therapy is an asset.
  3. Diploma or university degree in nursing or a related field.
  4. Current registration with a provincial licensing body; CPR certification.
  5. Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare settings.
  6. ACLS, PALs, MS, and CVAA certifications, and experience with central venous lines/ports are assets.
  7. Knowledge of cell phone use for appointments and fax machines.
  8. Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
  9. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  10. Ability to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical area.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

  1. Cell phone for appointments and assignments.
  2. Flexibility to accommodate pre-scheduled and last-minute patient requests.
  3. Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work independently and in teams.
  6. Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.

The successful candidate may have daily contact with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
