Job Details
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
  • Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, and as directed by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation standards of practice.
  • Provide patient/caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
  • Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
  • Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
  • Communicate and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling) to meet timelines for appointments and treatments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers to set up appointments and arrange drug delivery to home and clinic.
  • Participate in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
  • Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
  • Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of applicable tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by the provincial college of nurses.
  • Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
  • Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Follow all Health and Safety standards as per provincial Health and Safety Act.
  • Complete ongoing and annual education training within the specified timeframes.
  • Perform other related duties as required by Innomar.
  • May be required to be on standby/on call to meet service needs.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
  • One year of IV initiation experience preferred.
  • Current registration with a licensing body; CPR certification required.
  • Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare setting.
  • ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and central venous lines/port experience are assets.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, MS Word, and other applicable computer programs.
  • Access to internet connection, cell phone for appointments and communication, and fax machine.
  • Excellent customer service skills for managing interactions with patients, families, physicians, and clients. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel within a set geographical boundary for clinics and homecare appointments.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.

  • Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance coverage.

The successful candidate may have daily contacts with unilingual English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
