Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer medications (IM, SC and IV as applicable) in home or specialty clinic settings
- Support/monitor administration of IV infusion treatments in the clinic and/or homecare setting
- Monitor post-injection/infusion treatments as well as chart and report on all activities as directed by program protocols and standards of professional nursing documentation
- Provide patient education based on program protocols, individually or in groups
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures
- Provide reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics Key Performance Indicators.
- Coordinate with patients, case managers, physicians, scheduling, and other departments to meet established timelines for scheduling appointments, treatments, and communication of information
- Perform administrative duties such as monthly clinic audits, supply ordering, and other duties as assigned
- Participate in team web-based meetings/training sessions with the Business Area Manager, RNE, and Nurse Champion to maintain and enhance professional practice standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Consult with physicians, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology clients regarding education and implementation of product-specific programs
- Travel within your designated IBU and surrounding IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and Work Instructions.
- Follow all Health and Safety standards as per provincial Health and Safety Act.
- Complete ongoing and annual education training as per the training matrix within the specified timeframes.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations, regulatory bodies, and company policies and procedures
- Perform related duties and tasks as required by Innomar
- May be on standby/on call to meet service needs.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Practical Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
- Experience with IV therapy is an asset
- Diploma/University degree in nursing or related field
- Current registration with provincial licensing body; CPR certificate
- Experience in acute care inpatient/outpatient or homecare setting
- ACLS, PALs, MS, and CVAA Certification, and central venous lines/port experience are assets
- Knowledge of cell phone for appointments and fax machines.
- Excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, physicians, and healthcare team
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision as part of a team
- Ability to travel to clinics and homecare appointments within a set geographical boundary
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
- Cell phone for appointments/assignments
- Flexibility for pre-scheduled and last-minute patient requests
- Effective organizational skills; attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work in team and independent settings
- Valid, non-expired, unrestricted driver's license and insurance
