Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a capable claims adjuster in Regina, Canada, to actively adjust claims while maximizing business development opportunities. You will market and follow up on opportunities, contact policyholders and claimants, and investigate claim causes to report solid recommendations.

The role requires high school completion, a degree related to insurance preferred, and immediate eligibility for Level 1 SK Adjuster license.

Job description

  • Actively adjust claims while maximizing business development opportunities
  • Market and follow up on opportunities in a timely manner
  • Promptly contact and follow up with policy holders and claimants
  • Investigate claim causes and report to clients with solid recommendations
  • Use supplied technology, such as Docusketch, to scope and establish quantum of damages
  • Identify exposures and recommend reserves and investigations required for exposure
  • Prepare action plans and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and the insured throughout the claims process
  • Participate in after-hours customer service requirements when required
  • Perform assigned duties in compliance with established work standards, policies, and procedures
Requirements
  • Completion of high school education
  • University degree or post-secondary education related to insurance will be given preference
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive)
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience in claims adjusting
  • Must be able to immediately qualify for a level 1 SK adjuster's license
  • Ongoing commitment to education and learning, preferably pursuing CIP designation as well
  • Effective analytical skills, including identification of cause-and-effect dynamics
  • Able to draw valid conclusions and effectively communicate them
  • Ability to interpret complex documents of a legal nature
  • Ability to perform and understand advanced numerical calculations including analysis of comparative information
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, interviewing, and negotiating
  • Must be able to flex communication style appropriate to audience
  • Proactive and positive approach to customer service
  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing effective handling of conflict and difficult situations
