Job summary

One Kids Place in Nipissing is recruiting a FASD Service Facilitator to deliver child-, youth-, and family-centered services for FASD-affected children and youth, leading the development of strengths-based support plans.

The role works with families, service providers, and educators to build capacity, coordinate supports, and navigate multiple sectors—health, education, youth justice, and community services—across transitions and system planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences preferred or Social Service Worker Diploma required.
• Experience with children/youth with FASD and their families.
• Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage boundaries and organize reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strengths-based support plan with families for children/youth with FASD.
• Coordinate connections to diagnostic supports and post-diagnosis resources.
• Share information with consent to avoid recounting the family story.
• Collaborate with service providers and educators to meet child needs.
• Explore flexible service delivery and innovative approaches.
• Provide information to parents and school personnel about FASD.
• Support transitions to adult services when required.
• Engage with cross-sector planning and indigenous/francophone communities.
