Job summary

The City of Grande Prairie Recreation Department is seeking a Custodial Worker I to join the team. Responsibilities include cleaning, garbage pick-up, and setting up/taking down tables and chairs in assigned facilities.

Normal schedule is about 48 hours per week. Starting pay is CAD 31.71/hour under the CUPE Collective Agreement, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to grow within the city.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience cleaning and upkeep of a major facility.
• Initiative and time management to organize your own work.
• Self-starting attitude with an exceptional service approach.
• Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks within facility standards.
• Certification in First Aid and WHMIS.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning, garbage pick-up, and setup/takedown of tables and chairs.
• May require repeated heavy physical demands including long periods of standing and stairs.
• Ensure building security and customer safety.
