Job summary

Prairie Land School Division 25 is seeking a Custodian for Veteran Fieldhouse. This probationary, part-time position starts ASAP and involves cleaning and maintaining a training facility used by the Baseball Academy.

The role requires standing and walking for extended periods; prior custodial experience is an asset. Training on equipment and chemicals will be provided. Applicants must be able to pass Criminal Record and Child Intervention checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to perform routine custodial tasks and stand/walk for long periods.
• Experience with standard cleaning practices is an asset.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean space daily, wipe high-use areas, vacuum, wash floors and bathrooms.
• Dispose of trash and sanitize according to Alberta Health Services guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment provided.

CUSTODIAN VETERAN FIELDHOUSE

This pos ting is currently available internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. September 18th 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are seeking a hardworking and responsible Custodian for a probationary position at Veteran Fieldhouse to commence as soon as possible. Veteran Fieldhouse is an independent facility utilized as a training facility for the Baseball Academy.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working independently. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean space daily, wiping down high-use equipment and areas, taking out trash, vacuuming floors, washing floors, and cleaning bathrooms. Cleaning and sanitizing will be completed in accordance with Alberta Health Services guidelines.

The role requires performing routine physical tasks and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; physical strength and stamina are considered an asset. Previous custodial experience and knowledge of standard cleaning practices and procedures are considered assets.

This is a part‑time probationary position working 5 hours per week (0.125 FTE). Training will be provided in the safe use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals, as required.

• Personal protective equipment will be supplied.

Competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
