Job summary

The City of Regina is seeking a reliable Facilities Custodian to perform heavy-duty cleaning and general maintenance across recreation centers, City Hall, and engineering yards. You will work under supervision from the Foreman of Facilities Operations or the Coordinator of Building Maintenance.

The role requires Grade Ten or GED, a Fireman’s Certificate, and certification for one-man lift, with physical fitness to lift and climb, and the ability to follow safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Grade Ten (10) or GED equivalent with caretaking experience.
• Fireman’s Certificate required for City Hall and facilities.
• One-man lift certification is required.
• Ability to perform physical caretaking duties including lifting and climbing.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and basic maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform all required facility janitorial duties.
• Monitor boilers, furnaces, hot water heaters, and report issues.
• Perform minor building maintenance and repairs.
• Handle cleaning agents safely per health and safety requirements.
• Respond to facilities-related service requests (furniture moves, room setup, deliveries).
• Maintain records of shifts and maintenance activities.
• Follow Saskatchewan Boiler Act standards and safety manuals.
• Conduct general grounds maintenance including snow removal.
