Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) seeks a Facility Assistant III for our Grain team. You will support overall facility operations, help achieve production targets, and provide leadership to other Facility Assistants while ensuring safe procedures and proper documentation.

Responsibilities include grading, binning, blending, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment; previous elevator experience and post-secondary education are valued. Excellent customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience operating a grain elevator.
• Experience leading a team or supervising.
• Strong knowledge of grain industry, grading factors, and elevator equipment.
• Trained in Health & Safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Move grain by loading and unloading shipments.
• Mentor and educate Facility Assistants in grading, inventory management and safety.
• Grade canola, wheat, oats and barley.
• Bin and blend all incoming grain.
• Perform regular facility maintenance and housekeeping.
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

Your Team

Grain & Crop Inputs: The Grain & Crop Inputs Division connects Canadian farmers to markets across the country and beyond. With a network of grain elevators, terminals, and agri-retail locations, we provide crop inputs, agronomic solutions, and grain marketing expertise to help producers succeed.

We are seeking a Facility Assistant III to join our Grain team. This role is responsible for assisting in the overall operation of the facility and achievement of production targets, while demonstrating an exceptionally high level of customer service and providing leadership to other Facility Assistants. This position is responsible for monitoring safe operating procedures and maintaining the corresponding documentation.

Day to Day

• Contributing to the movement of grain by loading/unloading shipments
• Assisting the Operations Manager in mentoring and educating Facility Assistants in grading, inventory management and safety practices
• Exercising competency in grading canola, wheat, oats and barley
• Binning and blending of all incoming grain
• Regular facility maintenance & housekeeping
• Commitment to maintaining a safe & compliant working environment

What You’ll Bring

• 3+years’ experience in the operation ofa grain elevator
• Experience as a team lead/supervisor
• Through knowledge and understanding of the grain industry, including grading factors and elevator equipment
• Trained in Health & Safety procedures and a champion for safe work environment
• Aptitude for maintenance and repair of grain elevator equipment
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work within environment subject to dust and allergens and lift heavy materials repeatedly (up to 50 lbs)
• Post-secondary education preferably in agriculture or business
