Job summary

Norfolk County is seeking a dedicated Facilities Systems Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain critical building systems at Norview Lodge in Simcoe, ON. You’ll ensure safe, reliable operations that support resident-centred care and respond to emergencies as needed.

The role calls for a Grade 12 diploma and a Journeyperson/Technician trade credential or equivalent, plus 3 years of maintenance experience across mechanical and building systems.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 graduation.
• Trade certificate or Journeyperson status in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• At least 3 years of maintenance experience across plumbing, heating, ventilation, electrical, carpentry and related systems.
• Gas Technician II is an asset.
• Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, control and coordinate utilities and process systems including water, air, gases, water treatment, heating, cooling, ventilation, gas monitoring and pollution abatement.
• Provide water quality/quantity for boilers and domestic systems.
• Environmental sampling and reporting to Supervisor Facilities Services.
• Maintain continuous equipment checks and assist in procedure development.
• Support Fire/Emergency Plan drills and safety procedures.
• Coordinate daily routine operations under supervision.
• Operate vehicles and equipment to transport parts and supplies.
• Assist in meeting room setups and flooring maintenance.
• Support resident-centred care and safety compliance.
