Job summary

The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) seeks a versatile Maintenance Technician to perform general building maintenance, troubleshoot facilities items, assemble furniture, and assist with events in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The role requires hands-on skills, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Applicants must have basic maintenance experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; Building Operator certifications are an asset.

Qualifications

  • Experience performing basic building maintenance tasks and repairs.
  • Comfortable handling tools and basic assembly work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance and troubleshoot facilities items such as doors, windows, and locks.
  • Mount, hang, and secure objects on walls (shelves, frames, fixtures).
  • Assemble furniture including desks and chairs.
  • Assist with seasonal groundskeeping tasks.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment and store tools securely.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of SRC spaces for meetings and events.
  • Monitor and report larger maintenance needs to senior team members.
  • Participate in SRC’s emergency management team and assist Health and Safety with OH&S activities.

Overview
  • Perform general building maintenance and trouble shoot issues with facilities related items such as doors,windows,and locks
  • Mount, hang, and secure objects on walls such as shelves, pictureframes,and fixtures
  • Assemble furniture, including desks,chairs,and other office equipment
  • Assistwith seasonal groundskeeping tasks
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored
  • Assistin setup and breakdown of SRC spaces formeetingsandevents
  • Monitor and report any larger maintenance needs to senior team members and managers
  • Participate as a member of SRC’s emergency management team andassistthe Health and Safety team with OH&S activities
Qualifications
  • Experience completing basic building maintenancetasks,repairs,and assembly
  • Building Operator certification(s)considered an asset
  • Abletoliftand moveup to 50 lbs

The chosen candidate will also be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.

This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
